Medical history of the donor

The donors family should be questioned and the clinical notes reviewed to see if there is a history of neoplastic or systemic disorders.

Apart for specific primary brain tumors (that remain intracranial) and minor skin neoplasms (such as basal cell cancer or squamous carincoma in situ), a history of neoplasia is a contraindication to donation.

The donor should have had previous adequte renal function.
