The thorn in the side of hernia repair used to be recurrance, however as the
rate of recurrance has decreased due to improvements in surgical technique the
main problem now is persistant pain. The various causes of pain post hernia
repair are;
- Somatic; ostitis pubis, muscle degeneration, tendonitis
- Neuropathic; Nerve entrapement early by sutures, late by
fibrosis
- Visceral; dysejaculatory syndrome
- Recurrance
