Accelerated acute rejection

This is somwhat similar to hyperacute rejection, except that the patient does not have large amounts of circulating antibody at the time of transplantation. However, the recipient has memory cells and then these come in contact with the donor antigens either or both of a cell mediated and antibody response may be provoked.

This response is usually seen between 1-3 days of engraftment.
