The patient had an MRCP which showed a filling defect in the lower end of the bile duct.
They then underwent this therapeutic procedure.
What is it?

The answer

This is an ERCP. There is a small stone in the lower end of the bile duct which is being extracted with a balloon.

What the student may say

This is an ERCP with stone extraction. Contrast has been injected into the bile duct. A small filling defect is seen in the lower end, which is presumably the retained stone. I can see the endoscope, a small catheter has been passed into the duct and a balloon has been inflated presumably to retrieve the stone.
