Following are definitions for transient ischaemic attack (TIA),
cerebro-vascular accident (CVA) or stroke and reversible ischaemic
neurological deficit (RIND).
- TIA
- An acute derangement of neurological function of presumed vascular
cause that lasts less than 24 hours.
- CVA
- An acute derangement of neurological function of presumed vascular
cause that lasts more than 3-5 days.
- RIND
- An acute derangement of neurological function of presumed vascular
cause that lasts more than 24 hours and less than 3-5 days.
