Born 1871.
Dermatologist, Hôpital Saint Louis, Paris.
Described;
- Milian's ear sign
- To differentiate facial cellulitis from
erysipelas the key is to examine the ear. The skin of the pinna is
tightly adherent to the cartilage so this acts as a barrier to the
spread of infection in cellulitis. However, infection in erysipelas
spreads in the lymphatics so that the ear rapidly becomes affected.
