Evaluation Preop

All patients should be advised to stop Smoking at least 6 weeks prior to undergoing elective General Anaesthesia.

Patient taking Aspirin regularly should stop Aspirin 5 days prior to Elective Surgery (i.e. Cholecystectomy, Bowel resection etc.) Patients for Vascular Surgery do not need to stop Aspirin.

Women taking the Oral Contraceptive Pill should stop it at least 6 weeks prior to elective surgery.
