- Patients for theater should be discussed at the chest conference
- Preoperative Pulmonary Function Tests and Arterial Blood Gas are
essential
- All CXR and CT scan, any histology or cytology reports must be sent
along with patient to theater.
Following lung resection, patients are prone to develop pulmonary oedema and
therefore as a rule, iv fluid restriction is preferable.
Minimal infusion of post-operative fluid (less than I litre over 24 hours) is
recommended.
