Innate Immunity

The body provides many types of defense mechanism against invading microorganisms. Innate immunity refers to non specific immune mechanisms that will fight off a host of pathogens. The mechanisms of innate immunity may be discussed under the three general areas of mechanical barriers, humoral and cellular components.
