The three pathways by which neutrophils may cause tissue damage in ischaemia-reperfusion injury are 1) production of oxygen free radicals, 2) release of active agents (lipo-oxygenase products, TNF-$\alpha$, proteolytic enzymes) and 3) physical obstruction of capillaries and venules.
