Why this site?

This site has been developed as a service to medical students everywhere, it is aimed as an aid to those who wish to further educate themselves. The site contains images of medical problems which non medical people may find disturbing, it is not for the squeemish.

The site has been developed by medical students at the undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Once a medical student always a student of medicine

Information about the person who contributed each section is included.

We would like to dedicate this site to our patients, and gratefully acknowledge the assistance of those who agreed to have their images included.


  • Use this web site at your own risk
  • While we have made every effort to ensure that what is documented here is correct, we reserve the right to be totally wrong.
  • Don't come crying to us if your professor does not agree with what is written here. And/Or you fail your exam.
  • Images on this site may be viewed in your web browser, but we would prefer if you did not use them in presentations, or books etc.
  • Medical knowledge is constantly changing, it is difficult to keep up with all recent developments, consequently the information presented here may have been correct at the time it was written but subsequently become out of date.
